On November 7, Sandeep Gupta (MSc.) joined CDR International as a Hydrology and River Engineer.
Sandeep holds a Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Engineering from a leading technical university in India, and a Master’s degree in Water Science and Engineering, specializing in Hydrology and Water Resources, from IHE Delft Institute for Water Education in the Netherlands. His thesis, completed at Delft, focused on evaluating hydrological model uncertainty for drought assessment using the SWAT tool, a critical area of research for water resource management in regions prone to droughts.
With nearly 10 years of international experience, Sandeep has worked on a wide range of projects aimed at addressing key water sector challenges. His expertise spans the development of Flood Early Warning Systems, sediment flux quantification, river rejuvenation, flood forecasting and mitigation, among others. Throughout his career, he has contributed as an expert to various projects funded by leading multilateral organizations such as the World Bank, ADB, JICA, and the Government of India. His practical experience is complemented by a strong commitment to sustainable and impactful solutions in water resource management.
Outside of his professional life, Sandeep is an enthusiastic traveller, passionate about exploring new destinations, experiencing diverse cultures, and connecting with people. He is also an avid reader with a passion for books.
