On 13 March 2023, Bram Loef (MSc.) joined CDR International as a Project Engineer. Bram holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Earth Science from the University of Utrecht (Netherlands), where his graduation focused on identifying the impact of an underwater canyon on alongshore wave variability in the Bay of Biscay (France).
During an exchange program at Deakin University in Melbourne (Australia) Bram focused on integrated marine, coastal, and catchment management. Bram obtained a Master’s degree in Earth Surface and Water from the University of Utrecht (Netherlands), specialising in coast and river morpho-dynamics. Bram also pursued extracurricular courses at the university on Sustainable Water Management and Climate Adaptation.
For his graduation project at Deltares, Bram wrote his thesis on modelling mud-induced wave damping using SWAN-Mud and Delft3D. In this project, he worked on debugging the mud dissipation function in SWAN and coupling it with Delft3D-Wave, applying it to a test case in Suriname.
Bram started at CDR International in September 2022 as an intern. During his internship he carried out a risk and vulnerability assessment on flooding and pollution in various states in Nigeria using GIS as the main tool.
CDR welcomes Bram in the engineering team.
