The technical, economic and financial feasibility study into the construction of a ship repair facility in the kingdom of Tonga was examined with special attention to the remoteness of the island group. The plan aims at developing the island of Tongatapu as hub for ship reparation in the Asia Pacific. The study embraces the allocation of the facility in combination with various technical options in the dry-docking of ships up to 130m such as a ship lift, slipway and floating dry-dock. The demand study and financial/economic study was carried out in close collaboration with Dynamar BV and REBEL Group, respectively.
