At the Zanzibar Mtoni Marine Hotel a combined land reclamation / marina is currently being developed. Two main quays (East and West) will form the marina inner boundary. The inner basin will be constructed out of sheetpile walls. The outer seaward facing side of the land reclamation is to be protected from wave-attack by means of a rock revetment. For this project CDR has prepared a design for the coastal protection with the option to include a beach pocket. The scope of the consultancy services comprised:
- Wave study to determine design conditions;
- Revetment design;
- Beach pocket design.
