Are you our new colleague (m/f) with a proven track record in hydrology, coastal- or water management projects, who can deliver a range of exiting international projects?
We have a vacancy for someone with a passion for flood management and who enjoys using modelling tools to help understand flood risk from all sources.
You will have experience of taking a coordinating role on modelling studies, talking to clients and stakeholders and steering project outcomes.
Project Engineer / Coordinator Multi-Disciplinary projects / Climate Change (2-7 years)
Key responsibilities:
- Engineering, facilitation and coordination of multi-disciplinary coastal and water-management projects related to climate change;
- Development of nature-based as well as classic solutions, to be integrated with the local social and environmental conditions.
Who we are looking for:
- MSc degree in Hydrology, River- and Coastal Engineering, Environmental- or Civil Engineering;
preferably TU Delft / TU Twente or University of Utrecht (Earth Science) / IHE Delft; - 2 to 7 years of relevant experience in flood mitigation or coastal projects;
- A strong affinity to delivering high quality deliverables, able to think out-of-the-box;
- Excellent communication (in English and preferably also in French or Spanish);
- Living in the Netherlands and knowledge of the Dutch language will be very beneficial;
- Teamwork and pleasant social skills are essential;
- Skilled in hydro-dynamic modelling especially related to rivers and urban environments, GIS and design drafting software and proficient in smartly applying state-of-the art design guidelines, approaches and standards is a pro.

- The Clients are from both the public as well as the private sectors, mainly located in West- and East Africa, Central America, Europe and Asia.
Therefore, flexibility in international travelling for short missions will be required; - The CDR team currently consists of about 16-20 enthusiastic and committed professional staff, most MSc, supported by a cloud of selected renowned free-lance experts;
- Our Head Office is located in the centre of the Netherlands, immediately next to the central railway station of Amersfoort.
CDR is expanding and has a branch office in East Africa (Tanzania) and in Nigeria.
