Since December 2014 is CDR permanent on site as the “Independent Design Reviewer” of all marine designs of the Colombo Port City project. The marine designs exist of offshore breakwater (3.2 km), marina revetment, land reclamation (233 ha), ground improvement, quay walls and artificial beaches. The design and specifications are reviewed in relation to the contractual requirements, overall consistency and safety / fulfilment of international design guidelines and constructability. Furthermore, where possible design optimizations are indicated.
