In February 2016 CDR International completed the remediation investigation and design study for a South East Asian Port Basin Revetment. A bathymetric and topographic survey was carried out and physical model tests were performed. Under CDR’s supervision the recommended remediation designs were tested in INHA’s flume in Spain. Upon completion the customer requested CDR to remain involved in the preparations for the execution of the remediation works, as well as becoming the QAQC Representative/ Supervisor during the execution of the remediation works. From July – December 2016 CDR’s QAQC Representative and Supervisor Mr. Kees Drost was on site in South East Asian Port, where he supervised the work daily, checked placement of Chinapode units and signed off Quality Control documents as independent engineer, and was liaison between the client and (sub)contractors. Mr. Drost also trained the local staff on the correct placement of the Chinapode units, both theoretical and practical. On a regular basis other CDR engineers visited the site to provide engineering consultancy on the design and construction, and assisted in writing Method Statements and QAQC documents, and preparations for the Project Execution.
